In 2021 Texas was hit with a "Snowpocalypse" which left my family and I without power for several days. A couple years and a couple freezes later I decided I wanted to install a whole house backup system so we wouldn't be without power again. Initially the cost didn't seem too bad for the generator, but when it came to installing it, I was in for a shock... After receiving multiple quotes averaging $17,000 on a whole house backup system, I decided to go with a portable generator option and I built a Quality Fire-Resistant Generator Shed to power my whole house for less than 1/3 of the cost

shed I built.
